Founded in 1981, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) is China’s nationwide not-for-profit organization conducting international educational exchanges and cooperation. Its headquarters is located in Beijing.
CEAIE has a full commitment to meeting the needs of China’s modernization construction, developing exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese educational community and other parts of the world, promoting the advancement of education, culture, science and technology, and strengthening understanding and friendship among the peoples of all countries and regions of the world.
The main endeavors CEAIE carries out are to develop and implement international cooperation and exchange programs at different levels of education, provide quality assurance and recognition service on China-Foreign cooperative programs and build extensive network platform such as the China Annual Conference for International Education and the International Education Expo for international educators.
CEAIE has provincial associations for international exchanges in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities as well as local chapters in 16 major cities. Its members include education institutions and enterprises in China.
CEAIE has established a wide network with partner associations and institutions at home and abroad including long-term working relationship with over 170 educational organizations in more than 50 countries and regions.
In 2006, CEAIE was granted Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
In 2008, CEAIE became the NGO Associated with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations.
In 2009, CEAIE became the NGO in official relations with UNESCO.
In 2011, CEAIE became the member of United Nations Academic Impact.
In 2014, CEAIE has been ranked as 5A China Social Organization by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
In 2015, CEAIE became the Member of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO)
