Hao Fanghua

Professor Hao Fanghua, President of Central China Normal University, is a renowned water science scholar who enjoys the State Council Special Government Allowance. As one of the first National Environmental Technology Leading Talents, Professor Hao serves as Committee Member of International Water Resources Association (IWRA), Vice Director of National Joint Research Center for Yangtze River Ecological Protection and Repair, Vice Director of the Committee for Environmental Impact Assessment of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and Vice Director of the Water Conservancy Policy Research Committee of Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society.

 

Prior to her current position as President of Central China Normal University, Professor Hao served as Vice President of Beijing Normal University (BNU), and Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Wuhu Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Wuhu City, Anhui Province, which has contributed much to her rich experience in educational administration. She also conducted, as a visiting scholar, many joint research programs with the local universities and institutions in America, Netherlands, Japan, Sweden and Denmark.

 

Professor Hao has been committed to research on protection and planning of water resources, green development and strategic planning, as well as water security and safety management. She has led over 50 key research projects sponsored by the state and ministries, published more than 100 papers and books, and has been providing consultations for national decision-making in her academic fields.

 

Professor Hao has received the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of the Natural Science Award and the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Chinese Ministry of Education, the second prize of Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology Award, the first and second prizes of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, and the second prize of Beijing Education and Teaching Achievement Award.
